Northern Premier League! August 2014!

“We’re one step away from Blue Square North, just one fucking step! DON’T LET ME DOWN!”

A trip to Matlock at the start of a season of huge expectation from me and The Cutters fans. A hectic transfer period was visible in the first game as our passing fell short of reasonable. When Mark Bentley scored for Matlock Town it wasn’t really out of the blue, this division had created its first sucker punch in our title dreams. We were rushing our passes, not a thing I like to see. I had tried my best to retain the services of Tuck and Rennison for these exact purposes but they had little effect on what happened in the first half. The start of the second half and although ripping into my team at the break they still looked sluggish and rather pitiful. Things were looking bad but in the 82nd minute Bryan Brough lashed in a volley to give us a point.

Next up was Vauxhall Motors away, a very difficult game. The passing training we had done all week had paid off however, Lew Tuck finding some space and hitting a sweet volley. Minutes later Motors leveled the scoreline as more questions were raised about our defending. Things looked bleak going into half time but a fumble from the opposing keeper gave Junior Dumbuya his first Cutters goal!!! A lighter mood in the dressing room resulted to us playing with a familiar exuberance in the second half. An injury to poor Alan Bradbury was the only downside to a very promising second half.

The first home game of the season had finally arrived and after a very difficult start we were craving victory on our nice [...]

My Scouts Adventures in Ireland! (Transfers Summer 2014)

My scout is set for a huge salary rise when he gets home, reporting last night he had found 2 amazing, young players. Goalkeeper and Left-Back are not positions I would have reinforced but the quality of these free signings are excellent!

A for other transfers, it was much more about the outgoing players than the incoming.

It was a two sided coin indeed, a the one side there was Stuart Taylor and Rod Bateman who were destined to leave this summer (they left with my blessing) and the other side which was Carl Laidler forcing a move to Notts County for a stupidly small amount of money. After all the good things Cutzy FC gave to Carl this was disgraceful!

The one other important movement was the signing of 19 year-old Junior Dumbuya. This lad is a natural tank and has come in to take over Laidler’s role of holding the ball up.

The Friendlies: 2014/15

It’s great to get off to winning ways, 100% win record and only two goals conceded from a mixed selection of first team and youth players.

Players Outgoing To The Football League…

Creating this much talent does have it’s downfalls, it’s time (yet again) to say fairwell to some of our more promising players as they seek a club in a big league.

However there are always players who can take their places, the youth of 2013 and 2014.

Possible Outgoings:
